the foos are apparently in the country as they’d be BBC radio 1’s special guests in brighton this friday. caught dave grohl on radio 1 (a rare occasion when i do listen to radio!) with jo whiley last night in the car, listening to how he became the erstwhile drummer for the band that changed rock, evolving into the frontman of a band that shouldn’t have been around this long (thirteen years). the bit where he actually singlehandedly record an EP which became the foo’s debut was inspirational. it made me wish that i had an iota of his talent so that i can use that converted cellar to good use.

talking about substandard talent, i have (kinda) rekindled my activity of regularly picking up the strat (the xingxiao does the job for me). i have to put up with the hum of the high-output ceramic single coil as i now play in front of the PC. for some reason or other, i am relearning a small portion of the pumpkins’ back catalogue. i can play the solo for cherub rock now. woohoo.

i was stuck in traffic last week in a town called conisbrough when i saw this road called butt hole road. i am not making it up, just click here. the guardian had a little entry regarding obscene names for places last year.
