drove a few miles up north to rotherham after work.
i was drenched, waiting by the depot. unpacked there and then.
drove home.
struggled up the staircase.
unbubblewrapped and plugged to the mains.
turned everything to 12 o’clock.
switched on. plugged in the xingxiao (yes… that one.).
the notes from the intro to corduroy.
sweetness.

Waaahhhh… ada coffee stains. Brilliant. Welcome, brethren.
sound samples? ini macam kena bid shure SM57 ni… (saja carik reason – dasar eBayer sejati!) 😆
t: sweet indeed.
serih: 1995 fender blues deluxe, made in USA. 40w – loud as a mofo’!
the neon: tq! as you said, i tested the xingxiao first – babeng sedap! lagiii la aku sayang the guitar. the tele i used and played creep (after seeing your vid). hahaha 😆
and i haven’t even tried my gibson yet… can you believe it?
Were digital amps around to help John Mayall when he made the Beano album?
Or Hendrix when he made Are You Experienced?
Or Claptone when he made Layla?
Pink Floyd when they made Dark Side?
AC/DC when they made Back In Black?
… (oh tapi OK Computer DIGITAL maut, okay? Sighhh…)
The way I see it, digital is when you make love technically – clean, perfect, satisfying.
Analogue is when you throw the manual out the window, and drink her whole being like she was the most delicious of fine wines with that bittersweet aftertaste – passionate, flawed, agonising.
That said aku nak beli FIREWIRE audio interface. HahHAhAhaA… Analogue, my arse.
Neon: wahahaha macam pook!
Kudo: get a thd hotplate dudee! boleh main kuat2! *racun*
Kudo, Vice Predisent of GAS Kiasu King Club.
Now, proud member of The Tube Club
🙂
cantiknye… can I touch it?
haha
uncle: aku naively ingat hot plate tu literally like a flat piece of mesi that reduces the sound. 😆 until i went to the thd website.
ko gila??? bak duit. better still birthday gua january.
faley: where got. lmsn is still king kiasu. aku sekadar AJK makanan shj.
liza: can, can. 😉 shef gig may be next spring. got the itch? hehe.
yeah am getting one for myself. bramhall pakai satu jugak, this boo-tik attenuator called Attenuator. Kalau bramhall pakai aku musti pakai!!
neon: Eric?? siapa Eric? Bramhall beb!
so did you sleep next to it this weekend?:)
I wonder what Trabye has to say about this..
t: HoHOHOhoHOHOHO!!! POOX!!!
Siapa Eric? Alah, takkan tak kenal?
MAJIKAN idola kau tu lah!
weh hari tu beriya cakap amp and guitar make takde effect to the sound…. huahahaha….a little fickle aren’t we… anyways, tube amp rocks…lupa nak cite about my new toy….hahaha.. busy kan!!
Adrie,
Amp and guitar make takde effect kepada sound, kalau surname kau Claptone. Pasal benda yang Claptone main, it’s too soulful that it transcends the aural element. It becomes art. Timeless. Magickal.
Kalau setakat main macam aku, then beli lah amp dan guitar yang mahal2, okay?
Oi, hang beli apa, Adrie? Ceghita lah sikit…
adrie: i’m afraid you’ve taken my previous statement out of context. without sounding like a politician, i have to say that the neon has echoed my exact point.
i bought the amp because i’ve always wanted a valve amp. note the word want as opposed to need (macam iPod vs other mp3 players punya argument lah).
lagi pun, the statement tu ditujukan to those who complain why their equipment doesn’t sound good enough.
i know what i have is great. i just want more of it. 😉
Backless != timeless. Monotonous sikit that album. Macam Back Home, hark! Sorry Neonderthal. Tapi, I heard Tulsa Time is not bad at all.
“Tone and technique are obviously two different things… (Joe Satriani) has got both. I’ve got……. volume.”
– Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap
kureng assamm… good one! 😆
Honestly, dengaq lama2 sikit, t. Back Home is a solid album. Lagu2 dalam tu syiok2 belaka.
