At quarter to one yesterday morning, I completed the main storyline after approximately 74 hours of gameplay.

The last sitting was about four hour plus, trundling through Orphan’s cradle and strangely enough, last minute upgrades of my second-tier weapons and selected key accessories to the max. When the final FMV plays following the obligatory last boss kill, as usual, a familiar feeling of melancholy started to creep in. All those hours of grinding and levelling up, I can’t help but feel that I got to know the characters in the party. And to finally part ways, it can feel like I’m saying goodbye to a bunch of friends you just shared an adventure with.

However, with FFXIII, it wasn’t too jiwang of a feeling when the end credits were rolling. Probably because this was the first FF instalment that I actually completed in one sitting of sorts. Take XII, for example. So much for completing it before XIII, I actually had a two-year break before I continued on sorting out the last Rank 7 mark at the Edge of Reason! Also, there are the post-story Gran Pulse missions/levelling up to look forward to.
