just came back from the multiplex watching a no-brainer with the lads, which was surprisingly quite good for what it was. one thing for sure i enjoyed this way better than the rubbish first sequel. despite the lack of genuine kawaii japanese hotties. and seeing the lead looking 29 when he should be like 19. and seeing that you can get a typical hustling black character in a japanese high school. and the travesty of modifying a mustang with a nissan engine. all is forgiven when all you wanna see are the cars doing a combination of need for speed underground and ridge racer, with a dash of burnout.

there’s a lil’ surprise in the ending too (not so much of a surprise when i discovered that the online teaser showed it!). racing / gaming enthusiasts may also spot tokyo’s actual drift king, keiichi tsuchiya, doing a cameo appearance in the film.

recommended. really.
