It had been a weird year with the recent spring being somewhat hot (remember April?) making all the plants confused and all. Some of my random plants in the backyard are still in bloom. I do mean random as this a garden (if you can call it that) that I inherited from the previous homeowner. It will be some time before I can get it sorted that make it my own (one idea I had just ten minutes ago is to empty the fishpond, tile it up Mediterranean-style and leave it dry so that people can sit around it and chat – yes, I nicked this idea of from Cameron Crowe’s Singles). Two weeks on after coming back (grudgingly), I had to do the usual with the garden broom, shovel and whatnot to clear the leaves from the sidewalk. The, err… beauty of owning a end terrace is having two sides to work on. I also saw a couple of plants at the back that had escaped my notice these past few years and if any of you haven’t seen what an onion flower looks like, it’s the top left photo seen below. I somehow feel sorry for the mint as it ‘dies’ in the winter only to come back full strength next spring!

No green house, what to do, meh?
