集結 Shuuketsu / Gathering
Gathering is also the title for chapter 87 of volume 10 and all I can say/shout is… THE SASUGA IS EFFIN’ AWESOME IN THIS EPISODE.
I was holding my breathe as much as a pissed off Tanjirō with bloodshot eyes during the fight scenes. Even the pumpkin Zenitsu was heroic AF. And for the first time, I almost threw a plate of half-eaten pasta towards the TV because the episode was edited as a mid-fight cliffhanger. So much so I checked if they were supposed to air episode 9 today… (it’s next week).
As predicted (and a lil’ bit more) episode 8 covered chapters 87 and 88 from volume 10, and 89 plus 4 pages of 90 from volume 11. And yet again, everything from the manga is in the episode. With this sasuga and seeing everything being animated, I don’t really mind that this season ends at episode 11 now – yup, the Yuukaku-hen anime adaptation ends in three weeks’ time. I envisage about 3 chapters each from the rest of volume 11 for the last three anime episodes unless they’ll dip in chapter 98 from volume 12 which can make a nice epilogue for season 2 in preparation for the next arc.
