Premise – Sakamoto Taro was a feared assassin (koroshi-ya!!! if Anya Forger was here) until he got married, settled down, had a kid and now runs a konbini. Five years passed uneventfully until the past catches up with him. And now he sports a paunch… is he the same Sakamoto that was feared by all and sundry in the criminal underworld and assassin fraternity?
I finished this first volume in 20 minutes. It’s a pretty good read and when there is an action sequence, you’d wish there’d be an anime for this. I’m sure there will be but this official English publication by Viz Media was literally printed this April. The artwork is just okay and nothing to shout home about, but doesn’t distract you from the story. Get ready for name puns!
It’ll be a while before we get to read volume 2, though. At this moment. a cautious 7/10 from me.
