in a bid to finish reading the stack of the unread, i have resorted to reading three books at a time. hahaha.
first, i am dissing hemingway. bloody hell. never mind the fact he is one of america’s literary greats. recommended by anuarF after my recent non-corrida vacation. fine, i got the bit where bullfighting ain’t a sport but a great display of tragedy. my take is that it’s a fancy way to sembelih a cow, i mean, bull. so far, i got to the bit of a whole chapter of where and which plaza de toros or feria to go to. driveldriveldrivel valencia driveldrivel madrid driveldrivel pamplona. also, the book was written in the ’30s! aaaargh. very the informative one. just don’t be surprised that it won’t be five pesetas per entry to a fight anymore. i’m still giving it a chance, though. it’s now resting on the bog cistern for daily morning reads.
to make me go to sleep, i am reading this book which is a concise take on arab history by albert hourani. small text in a paperback is pretty bad news but so far it is interesting. the fact that i go to sleep after two paragraphs means that it’ll probably take me until 2010 to finish it. among other reasons.
my third book was picked up just this morning. i actually bought it a year ago (together with a few other of his works. i bought them from the american amazon.com just so i can have the non-white cover. sad.). i think murakami just does it for me. in less than 5 minutes, i finished the first chapter and already i know i won’t stop. and now i’ll probably add hourani’s book on the bog cistern to keep hemingway company.

finished capote’s breakfast at tiffany’s yesterday afternoon after a day of no work (again). i don’t know whether to strangle holly golightly or kiss her. got the DVD (now i can cancel the muat turun) whilst grocery shopping this morning for a fiver. with it being made in 1961 and winning a couple of oscars probably means everything ends hunky-dory for miss golightly in this blake edwards film. and no, just don’t spoil the ending for me. i don’t wanna know.

aisehman! How can you buy a book with *peopleS* on the title? People kan plural already!!!:P 😛 😛 BTW I named my old cat Holly G after that character. I totally adore her and that film I even owned a LD – won’t part with it, CD and script. Now ofcourselah have the DVD because the LD dah tak boleh main *sob sob*
BTW Kudo I think that is the kind of woman that is right for you I mean the kind yang you don’t know to strangle or kiss or both 😉
people is plural, but i think it is correct to use peoples in the context of the plural of a plural, in this case the word people. peningggg. 😀
I think I’ve seen the use of the word ‘peoples’ too; to describe a collective group of people. Don’t you just love English grammar? Yelch
it’s like fish & fishes …. kan. ntahlah, grammar ni zaman dulu je belajor… tu pun, main-main je 🙂
nway, sidetracking sikit… zul is selling Jati (lock-stock-and-barrel), kalau ada yg interested pls contact him.
