weird things about me. just the six, said she.

well, that’s all you are getting. let alone thirty six.

i shan’t wax lyrical or philosophise on how i’d define what weird is. you can check out a well-written definition here.

weird fact #1: i hate bean sprouts and cucumber with a vengeance, BUT…

… i eat popiah, of both the goreng and basah variety.

weird fact #2: i still have a baby tooth

despite my late mom’s insistence of going to the dentist to have it removed, my left upper incisor is the same one that sprouted when i was probably one. it’s a good thing i didn’t agree to have it extracted as it would’ve meant a permanent gap. the permanent incisor wasn’t there to begin with!

weird fact#3: i don’t watch horror movies

i’m impartial to gore, but watching movies like saw or hostel ain’t my thing. i think this weirdness takes the cake, especially when for the past two days i’ve performed nine autopsies and, to date, i have performed more than 200.

weird fact #4: i eat fried rice with my fingers

what’s with the spoon? every time i get stuck in with a plate of nasi goreng, someone would rush to me and go, “nah sudu, nah sudu“. it’s rice, for crying out loud. just because it is fried doesn’t elevate it to the status of filet fcukin’ mignon. i’ve also eaten chicken chop (with mash) and maggi mee perasa ayam with my fingers…

weird fact #5: i have a peculiar way of listening to music

you know how you’d listen to a tune a couple of times after which you’d be able to sing it whilst cooking in the kitchen? i can’t do that. that’s because all i hear is the melody and how the song is played. when the guitar comes in. how the bass stops between verse two and the pre-chorus. and how the singer starts singing on three and not four. i am a metallica fan. how long did it take me to know the words of enter sandman? six years.

weird fact# 6: my handwriting changes every so often

well, it was more so in my school and university days. whenever i see a particular style i like, i imitate. it’ll be those of classmates and colleagues. talk about imitation being the most sincere form of flattery.

if you were to ask me what my real handwriting looks like, i don’t know the answer. i still change my handwriting now, albeit at the moment, the style only changes with circumstances, e.g. filling in a form, writing a post card.
