place/date is a photobook by charles peterson (check out this month’s MOJO‘s take on the eponymous sub pop label) and lance mercer that i bought eight years ago at a pearl jam show in manchester. it documents, rather randomly, images of the band between 1991 and 1999. it’s a medium-sized tome, not large enough to sit amongst the coffee table sorts, but just nice to be tucked amongst my pearl jam memorabilia, books or otherwise.

since the 2006 gig, i have amassed a large number of digital images, may it be from practice seshes or the gigs themselves. and with online photography sites that provide a myriad of services out there, i thought it’d be a great idea to put the photos i liked best from the 2006-8 era into a book. i have done one before, with my shots taken from my whirlwind trip of spain, which i gave to the clan back in KL.

i’ve mentioned about this little project earlier and finally after two weeks, it came in the post. the B&W’s were a tad brighter than what i would’ve liked, no thanks to my monitor which darkens everything, making editing a nightmare. nonetheless, i’m quite chuffed with the quality of the book – pages, binding and, of course, the printed images. one might say it’s twenty quid more than a decent WHSmith album. but i don’t want an album.

i give credit where credit is due, so to you lot who has inadvertently contributed to some of the images in this book, check this out (sorry for the wrong spelling of your name, izad!).
