have you ever imagined owning a car but not knowing that turning the ignition key starts the engine? well, i wanted to upgrade this blog and couldn’t remember how to.
that’s what it is like running 無秩åºã®èƒƒ, which will be 5 this coming may. one week after its 2nd, i asked iJun with help transferring my data from the blogspot.com platform to wordpress. having your own dot com meant you are it, kan? since then, i have not tweaked the blog much. after a while, i wanted a more compact blog, with none of this scrolling down business. the archive list was getting a tad long, as was my gig review icons. i wanted the blog’s home page to have bits of all the items i want a reader (if there’s any out there) to see, all on the screen. that was until i saw v3.0 of the sheepwoman’s blog. all hail the sheepwoman.
i googled to see if there were other e-magazine themes for wordpress and there was this one called the morning after designed by arun kale. with the help of the sheepwoman on sunday, i backupped the database (for the first time!) and upgraded to WPv2.7. the sheepwoman also helped with the most important aspect of this blog’s appearance – i wanted it black (the original design is white, like this) as my old v1.0 blog. after googling, i discovered the joy that is firebug and by today, 無秩åºã®èƒƒv2.0 is online.
i’ve dispensed with some items regularly seen on a blog, like blogrolls (i’ve my fav blogs listed on bloglines – so, to you lot whom i’ve had in my list, i still love you guys!) and an archive list (if there is anything you think you wanna read about, the search option at the header works fine). and shoutboxes are so 2004.
the header lists a few items, which include links to my online photos on flickr (i have deleted my old images+words photoblog as flickr is the shiznit). the gig review list will be up on the about page soon-ish. some subcategorisation of entries have been made and is visible at the right sidebar. this time, if there are short items written on the blog, you’ll see them in the snippets section on the bottom left.
as usual, the language used in 無秩åºã®èƒƒ is my usual rojak of bahasa malaysia and english. in addition to the japanese stylisation, i’ve added some french.
i may have left out entries commemorating this blog’s anniversary in the past couple of years but i haven’t forgotten – so, here’s an early 5th birthday present to ya!
