0658hrs, Estación de Santa Justa, Sevilla
this was the earliest that we ever had to wake up. the bleary-eyed concierge moved so slow behind the counter to fetch the bill and call the cab that we actually felt quite sorry for him. we made it to the train station in the nick of time. again, we didn’t get the AVE (next time aje lah). it wasn’t as cabok as the andalucia exprés we took yesterday, but what the heck.

last night, we simply hurried to barrio de santa cruz for dinner on arrival in sevilla. the tapas that consisted mostly of deep-fried mariscos was the last straw. don’t get me wrong, the meal was lovely but when you have had tapas for days in a row, you just yearn for something different to eat (yesterday’s BK fries was a kind of respite!). just don’t ask me why i ordered all the goreng-ed ones. when we get to granada we must find meat! *leleh*

all these writing about food. i’m peckish as hell. i just hope there is a trolley service on this train. oh well, shut-eye time for now.

1310hrs, Baraka, Albaicín, Granada
at long last. ninie and i are in a small kebab shop on the edge of a little street (more like path, really) called calderería nueva in barrio del albaicín. weather in granada is cooler (not for long –ed.). we are actually staying in the world’s narrowest hotel – cool or what.

after chucking our rucksacks in the hotel, we had a quick runaround of the capilla real (where the have the sarcophagi of ferdinand and isabel), catedral metropolitana de granada and the muslim albaicín quarter of the city, since we don’t have to be at alhambra until 2pm. walked up into albaicín and checked out the teterías (no, they don’t sell bouncing jugs) and shops selling morroccan merchandise.

berenti sat, noo. kebab dah mai.

1325 hrs, still at Baraka
by ‘eck that was good. i had a gorgeous freshly-grilled bocadillo with chicken in it, with some ice-cold fresh oren to wash it down. on the seventh day, man – non-marisco halal food at last! ok. gotta stop writing since we’ve got a bus to catch at plaza nueva that’ll bring us to our final and long-awaited destination.
