#projekdapoq is still incomplete from my perspective. At best it is 98% done. Minor additions will be completed by Tuesday in the form of blinds for the windows and, wait for it… a new bin. It’s not much, but I’ve always wanted a Brabantia. I originally wanted a 60 litre bin, but was told by a friend that unless I was an axe murderer, I should stick to 30 litres. Wise words. I will write more about #projekdapoq once it is all done and dusted.

In the past couple of weeks, I actually had some further work done to the house. The dining room and part of the kitchen was decorated over the recent Bank Holiday weekend. I didn’t even twist the decorator’s arm to get this done over that time period. The room now has an olive feature wall, and the rest of the room is in an off white kinda finish. Ceiling, door/window frames and skirting boards are all white. I even had the radiator painted.

As the parquet flooring was retained and the feature wall is now in groovy olive, I was persuaded by my architect friend to get a vintage teak[1] sideboard by G-Plan (referred to as Gangnam Plan by another friend).

I found a piece I liked on eBay from a seller in Wigan and this 1970s G-Plan sideboard will come tomorrow morning. Can’t wait. All there is now is the alcove shelving which will be done in a week’s time, and the business of deciding what kind of artwork I will have on the walls. There are a few framed but unhung pieces in the living room. I’m also contemplating to possibly put up select blown up photos which I’ve taken over the years. We’ll see.

I found a couple of cheap[2] Star Wars books at WHSmith to add to my meagre SW collection last weekend.

One was Complete Vehicles which is pretty much an encyclopaedic pictorial tome on all manner of vehicles in the SW film franchise. The other was Year By Year: A Visual Chronicle which is an interesting book that contains a year-by-year description of all manner of things related to SW may it be the actual films, merchandise or printed literature, as well as snippets of both SW and then current events happening at the said period of time. However, these four from eBay were the best ones.

I’ve seen these manga versions before but they never had piqued my interest, until now. I wonder why that is. Seeing the story illustrated in the way of manga was simply refreshing. My only criticism is that the manga wasn’t printed to be read from right to left. I understand that there is no need to do so as this work had been translated, but all the translated manga that I’ve read thus far is laid out like the ones in Japanese. This was a set of four for Episode VI by Hiromoto Shinichi and for the other episodes, thus far I’ve found loose copies. Would love to get them in one shot for every episode!

Back in May, I was involved in a collaboration with four other like-minded SCANDAL fans from Indonesia and the ‘States, covering SCANDAL’s LOVE ME DO, a song from their current album, YELLOW. All of us are members of the SCANDAL HEAVEN forum, which has a cover band of sorts as the band membership is somewhat unlimited. This is arguably the tenth incarnation of the band and this was also the tenth cover from the SH Cover Band (SHCB for short). The whole thing (recording, mixing and video editing) was completed in a little over a month, which was extremely fast. So, this was uploaded like a little over 24 hours ago.

Together with the band’s vox, we spammed the band’s Twitter to see if they’d notice the cover we did.

And after like 20-odd minutes, notice it they did. SCANDAL re-tweeted her Tweet and commented.

[Transl. This is great! Too awesome!]

Suffice to say we were right elated. Achievement unlocked! Just to add, at the time I am typing this post, we’ve just a little over 1700 views on YouTube. Nice.
