Since my late mother’s passing, there are some home-made dishes that I’ve missed tasting, one of which was ikan masak tauchu. When she was around, I would take it for granted that I would be able to have it any time she would decide to make it for lunch. After some help from my cousin (thanks for the recipe!) and ayah – I tried it recently. I actually can’t recall its exact taste but thumbs up from ayah meant that’s what it’s supposed to taste like!
wow looking goo, dr. roger! I ove ikan masak tauchu too. If you can find them – try mixing the sweet tauchu with salty ones – it gives the dish extra depth.
Satu lagi – you can grill fish with tauchu macam miso saba – grilld miso mackerel or with cod and salmon.
Few have perfected the art of assembling the ultimate tauchu. And judging the photos, look like you’ve done justice. I’ve been vowing to learn how to cook, to myself. Perhaps after getting my own kitchen after marriage — if the wife doesn’t wrap it with yellow tape.
