i’ve not picked a guitar up and play along with a ‘tallica CD for three flippin’ years.
last night, i picked up my tele deluxe (an odd selection to play metallica tunes with) and pumped it up with the MT-2 (made in taiwan – but i don’t really care since it was only half price at sound control) into the marshall. i chose the 1993 mexico city gig from the live shit: binge & purge collection and off i went. i got 80-90% of it, much to my surprise – creeping death, harvester of sorrow. enter sandman tak payah lah, itu sampai bila-bila 100%. hahaha. even remembered how to play of wolf and man! then played some tracks from the garage days and creeping death EPs as well. got to work on the middle bit of helpless, although i got 98% of blitzkrieg (my favourite tune to keep my rhythm chops in tow). well chuffed!
muscle memory. that’s what it is.
