one thing that i’ve to put up with (ooh, what a disaster) at the mo’ is how all the films i watch on my telly has a hollyoaks (or any other soap for that matter) sheen to it. i was like checking out dear keira in her singapore pirate outfit and it looked like she was on the set of flippin’ neighbours. optimus prime et al. was no better as well (why oh why did paramount decide on not releasing their films on frickin’ blu-ray… please la!). funnily enough, SW episode 3’s intro actually looked like an FMV from FF12.
i tried to manually tweak the image from my remote. so far, bolehhhhh la (goes to show that in most showrooms like john lewis etc., they never tweak the tellies properly). anyhoo, if anyone out there has any bright ideas on getting that near-perfect HD-like quality without buying a PS3 / dedicated HD-DVD/blu-ray player, drop me a line, yo.
