I am still recovering from the family’s two-week (and one-day break) which took us to Cardiff and back, via Oxfordshire, followed by a non-shopping (we never do, anyway) stint down in The Smoke, in turn followed by three day-trips – Manchester, Nottingham and (just outside) York. The trips were a mix of the usual and expected fare, with a few surprises added for good measure.

All of us agreed with the fact that the highlight of the break was our two-day break down in sunny Cardiff. Sun and Wales do not mix, some of you may retort, but indeed it was. A mild drizzle lasting a measly five minutes hardly dampened our spirits. It was a good thing that I have been in this neck of the woods (thanks to the Glam Gig last spring) that I kinda knew which bits of the city to head for. Although, I’ve to say the first order of the afternoon following our arrival was Cardiff Bay. At long last, I got to see the Millenium Centre. I missed it when I was here last because I thought it was the same thing as the Millenium Stadi… long story lah. We ventured to the Red Dragon Centre for a grand nosh-up at the eaterie every Malaysian family goes to – the Oriental Garden. Fair enough, for the most part, it was your run-of-the-mill all-you-eat chicken-can-eat-one Chinese buffet, I offer my thumbs up for their chicken and jagung soup. Bladi el sedap meh.
