Today was the first day that we really ventured out since my arrival in KL last Friday.

I knew that I’d drop by Fantasy Toys[1] at Low Yat, despite my weak protestations. I’d been wanting a Macross model kit and to my delight, a Macross Frontier kit by Bandai of the VF-25F piloted by Alto Saotome was available for a mere RM219. They had two versions of the VF-25 in the store – the other was the VF-25S piloted by Ozma Lee.

Like the Bandai Gundams[2], they are pre-painted and if I wished, I could put them together straight away and deal with the panel lines as well as weathering. However, I have a feeling I wanna go the whole hog of painting the entire kit for accuracy, and battle weather the VF-25.

I just learnt that the amount we are paying per head is based on one Baghdadi gantang (5 and one third ritl ‘Iraqi) of rice which is equivalent to approximately 2.70 kg of Grade A Super Tempatan rice which comes to RM7.00. You may wish to read this explanation by JAKIM on how they worked it out.

For the first time ever (I think), I was in a departmental store shopping for baju Melayu. I have three already which I have been wearing for the last few years. As far as I am concerned, if it is still OK there was no point in getting new ones.

But then, I was given a lovely grey/silver/light blue-ish songket sampin last year, and none of my three bajus[3] bought at the Taiping bazaar were really that compatible.

Sod going to Wisma Yakin or boutiques for this. I finally bought one at AEON with a free set of butangs to go with it. With me wearing this John Master baju, I’d still look a million dollars. *Uhuk uhuk*
